Experience
- Client: Harvard University, Office of General Counsel
- Placement: Counsel for Allston Development
- Challenge: How do you find and recruit a superb lawyer to head Harvard’s most critical development project given a non-profit’s salary constraints?
- Strategy/Action: We worked with senior university administrators at Harvard to develop a criteria profile, including experience with large development projects in the City of Boston, superb credentials, the leadership strategy necessary to manage the challenge, and the passion to work in the non-profit sector. We learned as much as possible about this exciting project. Then we mined our contacts and through our contacts identified additional candidates. We were able to affirmatively recruit star candidates, and our client was able to hire an outstanding lawyer with whom they have been thrilled.
- Result: Harvard was skeptical about using a legal search firm, but this position was enormously important to them and they needed to affirmatively recruit to fill it. We came highly recommended to them. Harvard felt the process was extremely efficient, sensitive, and careful and have used our services again.
