- Challenge: How do you recruit an outstanding health-care lawyer with general counsel experience to play an essential role in a very cohesive senior management team?
- Strategy/Action: BIDMC had given a great deal of thought to their needs before retaining us. We met with their senior management to discuss these criteria, which included both substantive health-care experience and the approach they were looking for in an experienced general counsel. After these meetings, we identified and vetted possible candidates. After a long search, we lost the top candidate to an unrefusable internal promotion. Time was pressing, so we needed to quickly rethink our strategy. An alternative approach was embraced, and the position was successfully filled.
